Engine break-in consist of the following. All engines are ran inside a controlled environment, using EBMods Break-In Fuel, controlled with a remote mixture valve, variable load, and servo throttle control. The load and engine rpm can be increased or decrease depending on the engine power output. The remote mixture valve is adjusted accordingly to the Cylinder Temp and EGT temps that are being monitored. This assures a flow rate between 15cc-20cc per minute for break-in, with complete thermal saturation and expansion of all the engine parts . Engine temp is pyramided up and down between 180*-240* , idled for cooling. Each pyramid is a thermal heat cycle of the engine parts. Allowing the parts to expand and contract. This process is repeated for 30 minutes, then a static compression reading is measured. The static compression MUST read between 105psi -118psi depending on compression ratio to be considered ready to race tune. The key to our process is the fact we can run the engines on the rich side which washes out the engine during break-in keeping it clean, while at the same time keeping engine heat saturation up for proper mating of the parts.

Engine Inspection Includes: Static compression checked using a compression gauge, Engine Case inspected for cracks and tolerances, Crankshaft tolerances measured, Bearings Checked, Carburetor inspected for cracked and worn o-rings. This fee must be included with any engine sent in for Rebuilding. This fee covers return shipping and engine inspection time if the engine is found to be out of tolerances to offer a rebuild. Or if Engine Rebuild Estimate is to high to warrant a rebuild. If rebuild is performed this fee is deducted from the total rebuild cost.

| All
engine modifications are executed on a Milling machine, and Lathe. Using custom fixtures
designed and then machined in-house. This allows the use of
precision machines to modify engine parts. Thus enabling EBMods to
reproduce the same results, engine after engine. Precision
Machinery is just half the battle though. We have a full R&D
test cell that
we test and blueprint every engine that goes into production. With
this blueprint we are able to identify areas that need modification and
modify accordingly. No guess work, just REAL results that come from REAL R&D!
At EBMods we feel the two words "Dremel" and "Precision" should NEVER be used together when talking about modifying engines, especially for business purposes. Yes, you can make ONE engine fast with a dremel, but how can you ensure you are repeating precision mods with the next engine? |
